Public Choice voting is open now
Aevus is competing for the UX Design Awards — Public Choice Autumn 2026 title. The public vote is live on the UX Design Awards site.
Vote for Aevus →Katy, TX — July 15, 2026. Aevus, the AI-augmented SCADA platform built by Intrepid Logic LLC, has been named a nominee in the 2026 UX Design Awards, the international competition organized by the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ). The nomination places Aevus among a curated group of projects selected from more than 500 international entries across 46 countries. Nominees were formally announced by the awards on 7 July 2026, and Aevus now competes for the Winner and Public Choice Award titles for the Autumn 2026 cycle.
The recognition is notable for the category Aevus competes in. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software has historically been defined by dense, difficult-to-read interfaces that place high cognitive load on the operators responsible for pipelines, power grids, water systems, and other critical infrastructure. Aevus was built on the premise that the interface a control-room operator sees is a safety-critical surface — one that should meet the same standards of clarity and restraint as any consumer product, and hold up against the international benchmarks for high-performance HMI design.
"SCADA is one of the last major software categories where operators are still expected to compensate for the interface. That is a design failure, not an operator problem. Aevus was designed against ISA-101 and IEC 62443 from day one because the person looking at that screen at 3 a.m. deserves an interface that helps them think, not one that fights them. Being nominated by an international design jury is validation that the industrial control room finally has a seat at the design-quality table."
-- David Spencer, Co-Founder & CIO, Intrepid Logic
Aevus is positioned as an intelligence layer above SCADA, not inside it. The platform ingests telemetry, applies AI-driven anomaly detection and predictive-failure analysis, and presents operators with a prioritized, human-readable view of what is happening across their fleet — with a strict architectural boundary (IL-9000) that makes it structurally incapable of writing commands to field equipment. The design brief called for an operator experience that reduces alarm noise, surfaces the small number of events that actually require attention, and gives maintenance teams days of lead time on failures that would otherwise appear as sudden outages.
The UX Design Awards, held twice yearly, recognize projects across product, service, and experience design that advance the discipline internationally. Nominees are evaluated by an independent expert jury and by the international design community. Nomination places Aevus in the awards' virtual exhibition and public voting for the Public Choice title, with Winner titles to follow in the subsequent competition round.
